Manzanilla — Ensenada's Definitive Fine Dining Experience

Manzanilla is without question Ensenada's most celebrated restaurant. Chef Benito Molina and Solange Muris have been at the forefront of the Baja Med culinary movement for decades — a cuisine that fuses Pacific Rim ingredients, Mediterranean technique, and Baja California terroir into something entirely unique. The menu changes constantly based on what local fishermen bring in each morning.

Expect impeccably prepared seafood, local vegetables, and wines exclusively from Valle de Guadalupe. The olive oil-poached local halibut, the clam risotto, and the tuna tostada are perennial standouts. This is destination dining — people plan trips to Ensenada specifically to eat here.

The olive oil-poached local halibut was the best fish I've had in years. Matched with a crisp Chenin Blanc from Valle de Guadalupe, it was a truly transcendent experience. The ambiance is warm and intimate, the service attentive without being stuffy, and the food changes with the seasons. Worth every penny — and the price is actually quite reasonable for the quality on offer.

We drove two hours specifically to eat here and it was 100% worth it. The tasting menu was extraordinary — each course felt like it was telling a story about Baja California. Chef Molina stopped by our table to chat about where each ingredient came from. You don't get this kind of experience anywhere north of the border.
